#59: TOR JOHNSON

Long before wrestlers like Hulk Hogan, Andre The Giant, and Roddy Piper made the jump to movies, was Tor Johnson!   Yep, Tor used to wrestle under the fear inspiring name THE SWEDISH ANGEL, and SUPER SWEDISH ANGEL, was handpicked by the great ED WOOD, JR. to appear in his film BRIDE OF THE MONSTER and PLAN 9 FROM OUTER SPACE.  It's no secret that those films are among the worst ever made, but Tor's appearances in them really helped make them a good bunch of fun.

MONSTER FACTS

In the Tor Johnson film THE BEAST OF YUCCA FLATS (1961) the entire movie is narrated, as the soundtrack was accidentally erases in post production.

WWF Wrestler GEORGE THE ANIMAL STEELE portrayed Tor Johnson in the Tim Burton film ED WOOD.
