THE TOP 10 CLASSIC ARCADE GAME SONGS!
I love classic arcade game music almost
more than I love Devil Dogs (sorry, Marcia). And it's the classic
games o' the 80s that always have the best music. Here's a trip down
memory lane with the best of them all.

#10 SPY HUNTER
Featuring a modified synthesizer version of the famous Peter Gunn theme,
it really gets you in the mood for hunting spies. Pretty much all
you did in this game was drive down the street and shoot every car you
saw, so they might as well have named it "Super Highway Kill Spree" and it
would have probably been more appropriate. CLICK

#9 BURGER TIME
A great game by Data East that put you in the every day situation of a
chef being chased by giant eggs, pickles, and sausages. And your
goal was to run over giant hamburgers until they fell in to place for some
guy to eat who liked hamburgers that people have walked all over.

#8 POLE POSITION
This game has some great introduction and racing music as you cruised
around the Mt. Fuji scenery. I was always turned on by the erotic
mecha-female voice who would command "Prepare to Qualify" at the right
time. Needless to say, there was many lonely nights in which my
"pole" was in "position", if you know what I mean!

#7 FROGGER
Such fun music that really set the tone for the game. Though the
gameplay itself always bugged the crap out of me because if you jumped
into the water, your frog would die. Excuse me, folks, but frogs are
amphibious, which means they can use both their left and right hands.

#6 JUNGLE HUNT
There was actually two version of this game. It started with a
Tarzan character, but they were sued by the Edgar Rice Burroughs estate
and had to change it to some fancy Safari dude, who frankly deserved every
alligator bite, and vine falling injury he got. CLICK HERE to listen.

#5 PAC MAN
One of the most popular arcade games of all time, this beginning is so
cute! I remember before this game came out, you only had games where
you shot stuff like Space Invaders, and Pac Man really broke the mold and
invented the whole "run around in a maze and eat stuff" genre, that some
folks insist was the primary source for the increase in 80s bulimia cases.

#4 CONTRA
I used to play this game all the time and the music would echo in my head
all day and all night, and hopefully after you listen to it, the same will
happen to you! This game had little to do with the Contra scandal of
the 80s, but it had a rockin beat that you could dance to.

#3 MS. PAC MAN
The intermission music from this game is just superb. After you'd
get past a couple levels, you'd be treated to a hilarious cartoon about
how they'd meet. CRICK HERE TO RISTEN.

#2 BUBBLE BOBBLE
It was a tough decision to not make this the #1 song, but the folks that
produced Tron gave me $5,000 to put it on top, so what can I do?
These pop up ads only pay so much, you know!

#1 TRON
Wendy Carlos (formerly known as Walter
Carlos) composed the soundtrack to the Tron film, and I'll go out
on a limb and say that the arrangements in the arcade game are actually
superior to those in the movie. CLICK HERE
