Our good friends at The Backseat Kiss
reveal at last how to make a snowglobe with a robot and 40 oz malt
liquor bottles floating inside of it. And damn it the colors,
composition of the moon, and just everything about this picture is
so damn cool! The rest of the site is a bit short on redheads
wearing glasses pictures, but it's certainly wroth a look. I'm
embarrassed that I've not plugged their site sooner.. Also,
here's some cool pictures for our Dress As Your Favorite Otter Pop
contest long ago that never really got off the ground, that I'd like
to share below from the BSK guys, as well.
I just did a fantastically cool
interview with one of my all time TV favorites, Alison Arngrim, who
played the brilliantly evil Nellie Oleson on Little House on the
Prairie. We'll have the whole transcript plus the audio
for your listening pleasure as well! It was great to geek out
about the show with her, share a lot of great stories, and hear
about some of the great things she's working on. Stay tuned,
retroCRUSH fans, it should be up before Friday!
TRAILER MODEL BROCHURE FAN FICTION
It pays to be a
well-known webmaster with great connections! Not only do you get
impressive offers from Nigerian royalty to help them move large
amounts of cash into the US on a daily basis, but your friends from
other web sites will often share hot and steamy pictures from old
travel trailer brochures with you, because they know you
oh so lonely like to laugh at that sort of thing. When Dan
THE IMAGINARY WORLD
sent me this brochure from Komfort Travel Trailers, I began to get "Komfortable"
indeed, if you know what I mean. Back in the day, they liked to add
a bit of a saucy side to their trailer buying clientele.

RATING THE ALIEN
Zack Parsons at Something Awful
has a brilliant article analyzing the various alien invasions in the
most famous books, TV shows, and films. How do the massive
attacks from Independance Day, War of the Worlds, V, and Signs stack

IF YOU READ JUST ONE COMIC ABOUT A
RETARDED CLOWN THIS YEAR...
I first picked up this small, unassuming book, I didn't know what to
make of it. The beautifully stylized black and white art with
a drooling stupid clown with strips that go all over the place
doesn't seem to have much of a focus. Random pie fights,
circus freaks, and a sad sack character that seems to trip every
step of the way in his quest for true love. Then I just stared
at the cover for a while (pictured above) and it hit me. Fred
is looking up the road at a beautiful heart in the distance, but
just like the sun, the closer you get, it seems just as far away as
before. Sometimes, love is always out of reach, even when
you're willing to settle for the bearded lady. Roger
Langridge's work, published by Fantagraphics, is a refreshingly
bizarre change of pace from nearly every other comic being published
right now. Elements of silent comedy film are mixed with the
most memorable things about comics from every major era in this
collection. If you're in the mood for something entertaining
that's REALLY different, give it a read. You can pick it up
this 192 page gem at Amazon for just $11.53 if you
WATCH retroCRUSH'S ROBERT BERRY on ABC'S
COMPLETE SAVAGES JAN 21sth
Next Friday, 1/21 on ABC, make sure
you watch Complete Savages and catch my substantial cameo
appearance! The episode is titled "Teen Things I Hate About
You" and you should see me, with my bald head, black shirt, and
glasses sitting right behind the Savage family during a town hall
meeting. It's already a great show that you should check out
anyway, but make sure you call all your friends, throw a block
party, set your TiVO, and force any Nielsen family to work their
magic so it can be the highest rated episode ever!
CLICK HERE for more info about the show. Also, we'll be
interviewing the show's star, Keith Carradine for retroCRUSH
shortly, too, so stay tuned for that!
