SEMI-PRO IS SEMI-GOOD

Eh, what is there to say about another Wil Ferrell wacky sports movie? It'll open at #1 and be a big hit on DVD no matter what anybody says. Wil pretty much just walks through this one and delivers some laughs without trying too hard. It's nothing you haven't already seen before, and it's not delivered in a particularly good enough way to make you think about it much after you've left the theater.

I like a scene with Andre Benjamin and Woody Harrelson talking over a beer while Tower of Power's "So Very Hard To Go" plays in the background. I love that song, but it's inexplicably left off the actual movie soundtrack you can buy. So I don't know what's up with that.

If you want some cheap laughs, then check it out. Though with the R rating it doesn't really aim very high on the raunchy scale save saying "fuck" and "cocksucker" a lot. A lot of golden opportunities for nude cheerleaders were ignored.

Damn you, Wil Ferrell. Damn you to hell!
