Found this in my old 1975 copy of Man-Thing #20. How bizarre! Apparently you could get extra cash in the ’70s by sleling engraved replicas of Social Security cards, complete with a 10 year calendar that would be good until 1985! WHOOO HOOO! What purpose would these even serve? And what fools would trust strangers with their confidential data just so they could have the lady-pleasin’ status symbol of a brass SSN plaque for their wallet. I’d love to hear from anyone that actually sold these back in the day.
