The Snoopy Snowcone Machine

Remember this piece of garbage? Sure, the idea of making your own icy treats at will was alluring, but when you got the damn thing, it was so damn damn disappointing. Damn! You were pretty much just press blocks of ice against a rotating cheese grater. Great song, though. Share this article

Lite Brite Memories

One of my favorite toys in the ’70s was Hasbro’s fantastic Lite Brite. It was simply a light box that you could make pictures with by inserting different colored pegs into holes (just like your mom does every Saturday).  I think I had one round 1975 and quickly learned the “delight” of mixing different colors [...]

Han Solo vs. Greedo Bookends

This wonderful pair of bookends came out in 2006, and appears to be sold out everywhere I can find it on the net at this point. I love the way Solo is just slumped down. in his chair. Wouldn’t surprise me to see this going for $500 plus now. In honor of this great work [...]

Check Out This Awesome Wood Stacking Toy

Gotta love this take on the traditional stacking toy for babies. I used to have the cool plastic multi-colored one from Fischer Price back in the day, but this gourmet sucker is made of solid maple, walnut, and cherry and uses a natural beeswax polish that is totally safe for the little ones. A great [...]

Zuzu’s Toy Store Has Some Pretty Awesome Stuff

If you’re looking for some awesome toys for someone special, I highly recommend Zuzu’s Toy store. Based in Sacramento, Zuzu’s sells a great variety of wooden, natural, and Waldorf inspired toys that are a great alternative to the plastic fall apart in 10 seconds crap you find at Target. Don’t get me wrong, we love [...]

Not To Put To Fine A Point On It…

Wow!  Hard to believe it took over 20 years for someone to actually make a blue canary in the outlet by the light switch! You can get one of these gems at ThinkGEEK for just $12.95. However if you’re thinking of using it as a lighthouse bulb, you’re just setting the poor guy up to [...]

WWF Hockey…WTF?

This hockey game from the ’80s has to be one of the craziest toys I’ve ever seen. What a bizarre stretch to put the magic of pro wrestling with the grace of hockey! This box art is totally insane and raises so many questions. Why is Jake the Snake using his serpent for a hockey [...]

Cool Lego Video

This just makes me feel all glowy with goodness. Love the semi steampunk vibe to the music and main character. And it certainly makes me want to go and play with some Lego, as well! I wish more toy companies would make creative things like this to promote their product. Share this article
