Shame on me for not
giving this scene the proper recognition the first time we published
the list. You can see the inspiration for about every spooky modern
videogame ever made in this 2 minute clip. Crawling amputee dwarves,
piles of rotten severed hands, an old lady breast feeding a baby, and
other disturbing sights abound in this gurney trip that makes the
scariest ride you've ever been on seem like Disneyland's It's A Small
World (which admittedly, is like saying the same thing twice).
The older version of
our list included a tribute to a scene in the remake of House on
Haunted Hill where this guy had a creepy shaky face, but Jacob's
Ladder pioneered the effect more than a decade earlier with this
disturbing guy.
