#55 STEPHEN KING'S IT (1990)
"OH YES, THEY FLOAT, GEORGIE!"
Just as Jaws made
everybody scared to go into the water, this memorable scene from
Stephen King's It created a permanent fear of clowns in sewers.
Georgie loses a paper boat down a sewer, and has a lengthy
conversation with Pennywise the clown who just happens to know his
name. Georgie's rather dumb about the whole situation so you kind of
wonder if this is just a Darwinian thinning out of the gene pool,
anyway. Kids, learn from Georgie. DON'T TALK TO CLOWNS IN SEWERS!
